  1. STAKE CONFERENCE: Reorganization of Stake Presidency – September 28-29th. Elder Kevin S. Hamilton of the Seventy and Elder Chad R. Wilkinson, an Area Seventy, have been assigned by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostle to reorganize the stake presidency of Highland Utah East Stake at stake conference on September 28-29, 2024.  This will be the fifth stake presidency called since our stake was organized in November 1991. In addition to the reorganization of the stake presidency, the primary purpose of a stake conference is to help the Saints build faith and testimony of all aspects of the gospel. The meetings associated with the stake conference includes:
    • Leadership Session:  Saturday 4-6PM at the stake center for those that attend either ward council or stake council and the complete presidencies of ward and stake Relief Society, Elders’ Quorum, Young Women and Primary organizations.

    • Adult Session: Saturday 7-8:30PM at the stake center

    • Developmental Ward Session: Sunday 9-9:30AM at the DC ward building for those that attend the DC Ward

    • General Session: Sunday 10-12 noon at the Alpine Tabernacle in American Fork

  2. A request has been sent out from the missionary department to house a service missionary for two years:

“We’re looking for a good family who would be willing to have a service missionary live with them for his mission. This missionary is in the MTC and was scheduled to leave tomorrow to California. He is unable to do so based on his health condition. And will remain in the MTC for another week. His family is from Africa and lives in Kansas. He is unable to live at home. We are praying for a miracle that a family could be identified this week where he could live. The host family would have to provide full support (housing and food) for this missionary, as there are no funds available from the family.”

If you find someone, please let Elder Carl Swenson know (801-369-3306; carl.swenson@churchofjesuschrist.org)

  3. PREPARE! No Fear! – Don’t let your preparedness skills become a recipe for disaster! Come learn fun and useful skills such as cooking beans in an instapot, freezer meal prep, and bread making. The event will be on Sept 12 at 7:00 pm at the Rios residence (5329 Wing Place). Bring a favorite freezer meal recipe to share! Please RSVP with Robyn Smith at 908-303-4044.
