Streaming and Virtual Meetings
(HB 29.7)
When possible, Church members should strive to attend meetings in person, “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). Streaming and virtual meetings are intended for (but are not limited to) those who:
- Have physical, mental, or emotional health challenges.
- Are immunocompromised or in a care facility or hospital.
- Are essential workers or otherwise are required to work on the Sabbath.
- Care for someone who is homebound and cannot be left alone.
- Have allergies that put their health at risk in a meeting.
Extended family, friends and nonmembers outside the ward may also benefit by being able to listen to missionary reports, talks and special programs.
For the benefit of these members and others, the bishop may authorize a livestream of sacrament meetings and may also authorize and arrange to administer the sacrament in the home.
Members who are traveling should attend a local ward or branch.
