Family history is about discovering, preserving, and connecting with ancestors through research (using tools like FamilySearch.org) and performing essential temple ordinances (like baptisms) for deceased relatives.

Why is Family History Important?

Family history work is necessary for eternal families, providing identity, strengthening bonds, and participating in God’s plan.  It connects the living and deceased through blessings, fulfilling a core belief that families can be together forever.
