“Everything we believe and every promise God has made to His covenant people come together in the temple. … Those who make covenants with God and keep them are children of the covenant.” – October 2021 General Conference

Next Ward Temple day is October 10th!

Word Temple Day is an invitation to attend the temple and participate in the ordinance of your choosing at a time that works for you and your family. We encourage you to go together or individually—the most important thing is taking time to ponder the temple, reflect on what it means in your life, and make active decisions to visit.

How do I get a temple reccomend?

The bishopric is available to conduct temple recommend interviews for all ward members. These interviews provide an opportunity for members to demonstrate their testimony and commitment to following God’s commandments. All temple attendees need a current temple recommend, which requires interviews with both a member of the bishopric and a member of the stake presidency. First-time adult recipients, new ward members, those with expired recommends, and members preparing for endowments or sealings will meet with the bishop, while those renewing current recommends may meet with a counselor.

Commonly asked questions

How do I schedule an appointment at a Temple for a Proxy Ordinance?

Visit www.churchofjesuschrist.org and sign in to your account (or create one if needed). Navigate to the “Serve” button located at the top left of the screen, then select temples from the drop-down. This will take you to a new page where you can click the “Appointments” button to make an appointment. Choose your preferred temple, the ordinance you wish to perform, and the number of attendees. Finally, select your desired date and time to complete your appointment.

For live ordinances such as receiving your own endowment or being sealed to your spouse, you must first meet with the bishop before scheduling your appointment. After completing your interview, call the temple directly to schedule your live ordinance appointment. To schedule at the Mount Timpanogos Temple, call (801) 763-4540.

In coordination with the bishop, Relief Society president, or elders quorum president, temple preparation classes are available for individuals and couples preparing to attend the temple for the first time. These classes provide guidance on obtaining a temple recommend, explain what to expect during your visit, and teach about sacred temple ordinances and their eternal significance. The classes help answer questions and address any concerns about this sacred experience, ensuring participants feel prepared and informed before their first temple visit.

Temple appointments are not required to visit the temple. As long as you have a current temple recommend, you can visit the temple and inquire about available ordinances at that time.

Ordinance Ready is a valuable FamilySearch service that helps you find family names for temple ordinances. Visit https://www.familysearch.org/en/temple/ordinances-ready and log in with your church account to begin. Select “Find a Person,” choose the gender and desired ordinance, then scroll to the bottom and click “Take to the Temple.” To print the cards, select “Continue,” click the print icon, and cut along the dotted lines. Take these cards to the temple as soon as possible to complete the ordinances for your ancestors.

Indexing helps connect people from the past with their families by making historical records searchable. To get started, visit FamilySearch.org and click “Get Involved” at the top, then select “Indexing,” or click this link to learn more about indexing: https://www.familysearch.org/en/indexing/. Take time to review the Interactive Training to become comfortable with the indexing process.

Members are encouraged to develop at least a four-generation family tree to learn about their ancestors, and ideally extend their research even further back. Our ward Temple and Family History Committee can assist you with searching for family members, determining whether temple work has been completed for known relatives, and finding ancestors who need temple ordinances performed. Check below for the Ward Family Temple and History Consultants and contact them for help with your family history research and temple work.
