Robert and Joy Rios, Highland 7th Ward
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” – Matt 6:33
Last year a reoccurring theme in the Highland 7th Ward was how to put God first in our lives. There are many ways this can be accomplished, for example: prioritizing prayer, scripture study, temple attendance, and serving our families and others. As we pondered and prayed about how to put God first at this time of our lives, we decided it was time for us to serve a full-time mission together. This has been a desire and goal of ours since we got married over 38 years ago. We just completed our training at the MTC and look forward to serving in the Portugal Lisbon Mission as welfare and self-reliance missionaries with a focus on helping members improve their lives and circumstances through the benefit of the principles of self-reliance and the Perpetual Education Fund.
President Nelson promised “as you choose to let God prevail in your lives, you will experience for yourselves that our God is a God of miracles” (Let God Prevail, Oct 2020 General Conference). We look forward to witnessing the miracles in our life, in the lives of our family and in those that we meet throughout our mission.
